The 30-month RE-CEREAL research project was launched in November 2016 as part of the 2014-2020 Interreg V-A Italy-Austria cooperation programme. RE-CEREAL is part of thematic Axis 1, "Research and Innovation,” and its goal is to strengthen research, technological development, and innovation. Dr. Schär, the European market leader in gluten-free foods and producer of innovative specialist dietary foods for specific medical purposes, is the project's promoter and lead partner.

It supports balanced and sustainable development and harmonious integration of the Italy-Austria border region, and is funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) as well as national public contributions.
Dr. Schär SpA supervises and coordinates the Re-Cereal project with its partners, the Laimburg Research Centre for agriculture and forestry, the Università degli Studi di Udine (The University of Udine), the University of Innsbruck, Dr. Schär Austria GmbH, and seed producer Kärtner Saatbau.
Technology Transfer and Awareness Campaigns
The project will host field days, workshops and press events to disseminate newly acquired knowledge to actors both in the agricultural and food sectors and to consumers. We aim to reach a wide group of interested people in the Programme Area.
